There are numerous designs of shipping container, but the majority are what are termed “dry van containers”, these carry general freight. There are other designs such as refrigerated containers for transporting deep-frozen or chilled cargoes, and others which are generally called “special containers” These tend to be specifically designed for certain cargoes. All shipping containers must conform to international standards such as ISO, UIC, TIR, and CSC. Because containers are mass produced and designed for a harsh marine environment, they lend themselves to a cheap, moveable, and secure storage unit. Our containers are very strong, robust, highly secure and affordable. They are produced in their millions and are designed to carry up to 30 tonnes of cargo whilst stacked 9 high on a ship pitching and rolling at sea. This integral strength, coupled with the fact that they are mass produced means they can be affordably converted to a variety of uses and can provide a solution to various space and storage problems. We can convert containers for almost any use by joining them together and modifying them by fitting extra doors, windows, insulation, electricity, air-conditioning units, and many other enhancements. We can also alter the height and length as required.
